The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date (reference 01 754 7798 4038-07 8 20 06) is a refined Swiss automatic watch from Oris’s flagship Big Crown collection. At 40 mm, this stainless steel men’s watch is defined by a rich oxblood red dial, which sits beautifully against the monochromatic steel palette for a look that is confident, sophisticated and easy to wear. Its signature is the pointer date: a centre hand tipped in contrasting red sweeps across a date scale at the dial’s outer edge, making this luxury watch as practical as it is distinctive.
Powering the watch is Oris Calibre 754, a hardy Swiss Made automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve and a steady 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Convenient features include an instantaneous date, a date corrector and a stop-second function for precise time setting. The multi-piece stainless steel case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, domed on both sides and treated with anti-reflective coating on the inside, so the dial stays clear and legible in most lighting. A screwed, see-through caseback offers a glimpse of the mechanics at work, while 5 bar water resistance suits everyday wear. The 20 mm multi-piece stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp completes the watch with a secure, polished finish. It is backed by a two-year warranty, which can be extended to three years by joining MyOris.
